Der Oper 'La Chute de la Maison Usher' basiert auf der berühmten Kurzgeschichte von Edgar Allan Poe. Musikalische Grundlage war die Entdeckung eines 28minütigen unvollendeten Fragments einer Opern aus dem Nachlass vob Claude Debussy. Dieses Material wurde - gemeinsam mit neuer Musik von Johannes Wist - für diese neue Bühnenproduktion verwendet, das elektronische Klangwelten, Oper, Tanztheater und Multimedia kombiniert.

THE FALL OF THE HOUSE OF USHER
A Horror Chamber Opera

The opera 'La Chute de la Maison Usher' is based on the famous gothic horror short-story by Edgar Allan Poe. The idea to make a multimedia stage production was inspired out of the discovery of 28 minutes of unfinished opera compositions that Claude Debussy had left unfinished at his death. This material was used as a starting point for a new stage piece that combines the music by Debussy with new music, opera, physical theatre and multimedia.
