Grundlage für dieses Solo ist der Namen, die Handschrift und Unterschrift des Tänzers. Die Unterschrift jedes Menschen ist eine minimale Choreographie, die wir täglich wiederholen, um unsere Identität zu beweisen, da sie als einzigartig individuell und authentisch angesehen wird. Können durch die Bewegungsqualität der überdimensionalen Signatur des Tänzers auch seine Charakterzüge zum Ausdruck gebracht werden? Durch die choreographische Transkription des Musters der Unterschrift spielen wir mit dem Paradox, durch Bewegung, Veränderung und Fluidität unsere Identität zu befestigen.

Das Solo wurde mit und für Kiriakos Hadjiioannou entwickelt und wurde beim Internationalen Solotanz Festival am TREFFPUNKT Rotebühlplatz Stuttgart im März 2009 uraufgeführt und gewann den 2. Preis für Choreographie.

MONOGRAM - a signature piece

This award winning solo takes the dancers' own name, handwriting and signature as a premise to develop a choreography that is an extension of each particular dancer's movement identity. Our signature is a minimal choreography we repeat daily to prove our identity, as it is regarded as singularly individual and authentic. Through transcribing these patterns choreographically, we play with the paradox of solidifying our identity through movement, which by definition constitutes flux, change, continuum and fluidity.

The concept was created on Kiriakos Hadjiioannou and was premiered at the International Solo Dance Festival in Stuttgart in March of 2009 and awarded with 2nd Price for Choreography.
